专业沿革

广州美术学院动画专业创建于1999年,是华南地区最早建立的动画专业。2004年分数字媒体与动画两个专业方向,2009年增设数字娱乐与衍生专业方向,2015年以“2+2”模式改革,设4个工作室。2014年当选广东省本科高校动画、数字媒体专业教学指导委员会、广东省高等教育学会影视与动漫专业委员会主任单位。2016年获批省级“影视与数字媒体”重点学科及动画特色专业。2018年以“3+1”融合模式改革。动画专业入选2020年国家级一流本科专业建设点。本专业办学地点为广州美术学院大学城校区。

Founded in 1999, this is the earliest animation program among universities in south China. It was divided into two separate concentrations in 2004, namely Digital Media and Animation. We added Digital Entertainment and Derivative Applications in 2009, launched the “2+2” mode reform and set up 4 studios in 2015. In the year of 2014, Animation program was elected as the director of the Steering Committee of Guangdong Provincial Undergraduate Animation and Digital Media Teaching, and the Guangdong Institute of Higher Education Film and Animation Professional Committee. Afterwards, it was approved as a provincial key discipline and characteristic program for “theater, film, television and digital media” in 2016, reformed under the "3+1" mode in 2018, and approved for the development of national first-class undergraduate program in 2020. It is offered at GAFA Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Campus.

We follow the trend of “pan-animation” and serve the needs of creative economy and technological development. Courses for Theatre, Film and Television Animation, Experimental Animation, Entertainment and Derivatives, Digital Games, Illustration and Comics are offered, too. We highlight talent education and moral development, aiming to train innovative professionals with both global and local vision.

动画专业面向影视动画艺术创作与应用领域、新兴数字娱乐方向、数码游戏相关产业,培养具有一定艺术修养、有策划意识、有实际创作能力等方面的知识能力,掌握从事动画、游戏、娱乐与衍生品、插画漫画相关的艺术造型创作设计能力以及必需的艺术设计理论、专业知识和实践技能,有强烈的社会责任感、正确的设计伦理观、良好的职业道德,德智体全面发展、专业基础扎实、专业能力强、综合素质高、创新意识强的动画设计应用型与复合型人才。

Focusing on animation creations and applications in film and television animation, emerging digital games and entertainment, we expect our students to be versatile talents in animation design who… 

(1) possess artistic sense, awareness of planning, and practical creativity;
 
(2) master artistic creation and design skills for animation, games, entertainment and derivative applications, illustration and comics, have a command of art and design theories, professional knowledge and practical skills;

Curriculum Design

本专业修业年限四年,授予艺术学学士学位。就读期间需完成的总学分为190,共3040学时。主要学习泛动画所涵盖的基础知识以及各个具体方向的基本理论、应用性知识和设计技能,接受动画的完整训练,掌握动画、影视、游戏与衍生品设计、插画漫画等方面的基本能力。专业坚持知识、能力和素质协调发展,强调综合素质与整合能力的培养。所培养的学生具有良好的创作能力与理论水准,有解决问题的执行能力,是具有思辨能力、人文气质、创新精神的设计者。

This is a 4-year program for Bachelor of Arts degree. Students need to finish 190 credits and 3,040 credit hours. They learn the basic knowledge of pan-animation as well as the basic theories, applied knowledge and design skills of various specific directions. They undergo training in animation, and are required to master the basic abilities of animation, film and television, game and derivative applications, illustration and comics. The program emphasizes knowledge, ability and overall competence. Our students should be proactive, creative and knowledgeable, and are expected to serve as innovative and artistic designers with critical thinking.

课程体系

本专业采取专业教学委员会架构,推行“3+1”教学模式。一到三年级为基础教学,四年级以“导师组”形式加强专业教育。专业核心课程为:动画概论、游戏概论、动画运动规律、视听语言、数字建模与渲染、角色动态设计、表演基础、创意图形、特效与合成、编剧、衍生产品设计、形式与风格、项目策划与设计、毕业论文与毕业设计。校内实践教学以实验室授课为主,校外实践教学以专业考察、校企联合课程、工作坊等多种形式进行。

Run by a professional teaching committee, this program adopts the “3+1” teaching mode. That is to say, students learn the basics in the first to third years, and form “tutor groups” to acquire professional abilities in the fourth year. Professional core courses include Introduction to Animation, Introduction to Games, Animation Movement Patterns, Audio-Visual Language, Digital Modeling and Rendering, Dynamic Design of Characters, Performance Fundamentals, Creative Graphics, Special Effects and Synthesis, Screenwriting, Derivative Design, Form and Style, Project Planning and Design, Graduation Thesis, and Graduation Design. On-campus practice-based teaching is conducted in laboratories, and off-campus teaching is organized in various forms such as inspections, courses in enterprises and workshops.

师资队伍

本专业师资队伍学历搭配均衡,职称分配合理,年龄层次有序。现有在职教师16位,其中教授职称1位,副教授职称5位,讲师10位。有博士学位3位,硕士学位13位,海外学术背景5位。教师队伍学术背景包括了动画学、设计学、美术学等专业领域,具备深厚的专业功力、全面的综合素质和宽泛的学科背景,融教学、科研、创作于一体。

The faculty is well-structured in terms of academic qualifications, title and age. We now have 16 teachers, including 1 professor, 5 associate professors, and 10 lecturers. Among them, 3 have a doctoral degree, 13 have a master’s degree, and 5 have overseas education background. They majored in diverse discipline including animation, design and fine arts, have good professional skills, and are experienced in teaching, scientific research and creations.

Teaching Facilities

教学条件

学校有三十多间实验室,实行共享共建。适合本专业教学使用的实验室有计算机基础教研室、三维动画实验室、影视后期实验室、渲染农场、3D打印实验室、模型实验室、摄影实验室等等。建有“广美—光合传媒实践教学基地”“广美—广东华南工业设计学院动漫中心实践教学基地”“广美—广佛地铁动漫实践教学基地”等多个校外教学实践基地。还与腾讯、网易、环球数码等一流企业合作,共建多个合作课程。

GAFA has more than 30 laboratories shared by different programs. Students of this programs can use Computer Basic Teaching and Research Room, 3D Animation Laboratory, Film and Television Post-production Laboratory, Rendering Farm, 3D Printing Laboratory, Model Laboratory, and Photography Laboratory. They also receive training in off-campus teaching and practice bases such as GAFA-Shining Studio Teaching Base, GAFA-Guangdong South China Institute of Industrial Design Animation Base, and GAFA-Guangfo Metro Animation Base. In addition, we offer a number of course in cooperation with renowned enterprises such as Tencent, NetEase and Global Digital Creations.

教学成果

本专业自创立以来,获得多个教学机构奖项,2014年入围中国文化艺术政府奖“最佳动漫教育机构奖”。师生作品屡获佳绩,获得全国美展、社会主义核心价值观动画等多个国家及省部级奖项,曾为2010年第16届广州亚洲运动会设计吉祥物及官方系列宣传片,师生作品“冰墩墩”被选为2022北京冬奥会吉祥物最终方案。大学生创新创业成果斐然,获批多个国家级大创项目。毕业生创业成果显著,成立了包括小疯映画、九五动画、极刻(爆米花)等知名的公司和多部知名的动画作品及IP形象等。

This program haswon multiple awards. In 2014, it was shortlisted for the Best AnimationEducation Institution Award of the “Wenhua Award”. Our teachers and studentswon many honors at the national, provincial and ministerial levels such as theNational Exhibition of Fine Arts. They designed mascot and official promotionalvideos for the Guangzhou Asian Games 2010, and designed the mascot for theBeijing Winter Olympics 2022 “Bing Dwen Dwen”. Our students also maderemarkable achievements in innovation and entrepreneurship, and have chaired manynational innovation projects. Some of our graduates are successfulentrepreneurs, who run well-known companies like Sharefun Studio, 95Making, andPopcorn Animation Studio. The companies have created many famous cartoons andcharacters.
