History

专业沿革

广州美术学院工艺美术专业包含工艺美术、漆艺、金工与首饰三个专业方向，广州美术学院工艺美术专业最早可以上溯到1953年中南美专图案组，1958年中南美专南迁广州成立广州美术学院，工艺美术系成立，广州美术学院是全国最早成立工艺美术专业的院校之一。在教育部学科名录取消工艺美术学科期间，本专业以装饰艺术设计系的名称继续存续。教育部于2012年重新恢复工艺美术学科，本专业于2014年重新以工艺美术专业名称招生，2016年成为广州美术学院第一个获得广东省高校攀峰重点学科的二级学科。又于2019年增设金工与首饰专业方向，2020年绘画（漆艺）转入形成工艺美术（漆艺）专业方向，2020年成为国家级一流专业建设点。办学地点为广州美术学院大学城校区。

Arts and Crafts program offers 3 concentrations: Arts and Crafts, Lacquer Art, and Metalwork and Jewelry. The program can be traced back to the Pattern Group of Central South College of Fine Arts founded in 1953. In 1958, Central South College of Fine Arts moved south to Guangzhou and established GAFA. The Department of Arts and Crafts was then established. GAFA was one of the earliest schools to establish Arts and Crafts program in China. After the Ministry of Education canceled Arts and Crafts discipline in the discipline list, this program was renamed the Department of Decorative Arts Design. In 2012, the Ministry of Education restored this discipline. In 2014, this program was renamed Arts and Crafts and open for students. In 2016, it became the first second-level discipline of GAFA rated as a key discipline of Guangdong universities potentially to be a national key discipline. In 2019, Metalworking and Jewelry concentration was added. In 2020, Painting (Lacquer Art) was added to form Arts and Crafts (Lacquer Art). In 2020, it was selected for the construction of national first-class undergraduate program. Courses are now offered at Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Campus.

专业定位

工艺美术专业坚持以“务实、创新”为教学原则，以立体、平面材料工艺课程为教学重点，以综合材料工艺媒介在特定空间环境载体中的整合运用为发展方向，顺应国家手工艺非物质文化遗产保护计划，大力开展岭南地区的手工艺非物质文化遗产的研究保护与发展工作。一方面从纵向着重传统特种材料工艺的承传与深化，如岭南民间工艺技术的传承与优化，另一方面更从横向拓展其与环境结合而产生具有现代意味为现代环境服务的新体裁、新形式。

Arts and Crafts upholds pragmatic and innovative teaching. In addition to 3D and planar material craft courses, we teach students the integrated application of comprehensive material craft media in specific environment. In response to the national protection plan for handicraft intangible cultural heritage, we vigorously devote ourselves to the research, protection and development of handicraft intangible cultural heritage in the Lingnan area. On the one hand, we work hard to carry forward and upgrade traditional special material crafts , such as Lingnan folk crafts. On the other hand, we expand our combination with the environment to produce new genres and new forms that have modern significance and serve the modern environment.

培养具备将工艺传统理论与当代实践相结合，具有创新能力，以综合材料工艺媒介在特定空间环境载体中的整合运用为发展方向，能在文化艺术部门、政府非物质文化遗产保护机关、传统工艺加工领域、学校以及公共艺术及相关领域等企事业部门从事各种传统与现代工艺美术品设计制作、公共艺术综合创作、设计及策划以及相关教学与研究，设计管理工作方面的德、智、体等方面全面发展的高水平艺术人才和文化创意人才。

We strive to prepare high-level artistic and cultural creation talents with innovation capabilities and all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics, who can combine traditional craft theory and contemporary practice, explore the integrated application of comprehensive material craft media in specific environment and take up the design and production of traditional and modern arts and crafts, comprehensive public art creation, design, planning, teaching, research and management in cultural and art departments, government agencies for intangible cultural heritage protection, traditional craft processing industry, universities, public art and other related fields.

工艺美术专业教学旨在培养以了解一定中国传统文化、本专业中外当代艺术理论基本概念、国内外的前沿发展现状和趋势为基础的，掌握田野考察和民间实践调研的基本方法，具有对传统工艺进行调查和研究的能力、对于工艺性与艺术性问题进行分析和研究的能力、能综合运用专业知识进行工艺美术创作和运用多种艺术语言表达艺术创作的人才。

Our students are expected to master basic concepts and theories of Chinese traditional culture and Chinese and international contemporary art, as well as the latest development trends at home and abroad to a certain extent. Our students should master basic methods of field investigation and folk practice investigation, have the capabilities to investigate and study traditional crafts, analyze and study craft and art issues, and comprehensively use professional knowledge in arts and crafts and artistic creation.

课程体系

本专业学生主要学习工艺美术学科中立体、平面材料的基本理论和基本技能，从纵向着重传统工艺材料的承传与深化，特别强调岭南民间工艺技术的传承与优化；从横向则积极拓展各种工艺材料、加工技能与环境结合而产生的具有现代意味，为现代环境服务的新体裁、新形式。通过系统的教学，熟悉中外工艺美术风格形式特征与表现手法，掌握形态造型、色彩造型、立体造型等多维造型能力，掌握平面、立体等综合材料工艺，培养整合应用和总体策划设计能力。

Our students mainly learn basic theories and skills of 3D and planar materials in arts and crafts. We strive to carry forward and upgrade traditional art and craft materials, especially Lingnan folk handicrafts. We actively expand the combination of various art and craft materials, processing skills and the environment and create new genres and new forms that have modern significance and serve the modern environment. Through systematic teaching, our students are expected to master characteristics and expression techniques of Chinese and international arts and crafts, and foster multi-dimensional modeling capabilities such as form modeling, color modeling and 3D modeling, comprehensive crafts for planar and 3D materials, and integrated application, planning and design capabilities.

师资队伍

目前工艺美术专业有专任教师7名：教授2名，副教授1名，讲师4名；漆艺方向有专任教师4名：副教授1名，讲师3名。师资集中国美术家协会壁画艺委会秘书长、中国美术家协会工艺美术艺委会委员、中国壁画学会常务理事、国家艺术基金评委、广东省美术家协会理事、广东省美术家协会漆画艺委会委员、广州市民间艺术家协会副主席等重要成员。此外，学院不定期聘请国内外专家、工艺美术大师、非遗传承人等进行教学。

At present, we have 7 full-time teachers, including 2 professors, 1 associate professor and 4 lecturers. Lacquer Art is staffed by 4 full-time teachers, including 1 associate professor and 3 lecturers. Our faculty team consists of many important members of related organizations, such as the secretary-general of Mural Art Committee of Chinese Artists Association, member of Arts and Crafts Committee of Chinese Artists Association, executive director of China Mural Association, juror of China National Arts Fund, director of Guangdong Artists Association, member of Lacquer Painting Art Committee of Guangdong Artists Association, vice chairman of Guangzhou Folk Artists Association and so on. In addition, we invite Chinese and international experts, art and craft masters, inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, etc. to give lectures from time to time.

Teaching Facilities

教学条件

教学依托资源：广州美术学院大学城校区教学空间、金属工艺实验室、漆艺实验室、广彩工作室、陶艺实验室、玉雕实验室、木雕实验室、岩彩实验室、泥塑实验室、岭南民间美术研究室、广州美术学院图书馆,以及多个校外实践基地。其中，漆画艺术实验室教学面积517.92㎡，设有天然漆工作室、荫房、设备操作室、无尘工作间、漆画艺术多功能展厅、办公室、储藏室等功能区。

We boast various teaching resources: classrooms, metal craft laboratory, lacquer art laboratory, Canton enamel studio, ceramic art laboratory, jade carving laboratory, wood carving laboratory, mineral pigment laboratory, clay sculpture laboratory, Lingnan Folk Art Research Office, GAFA Library and several off-campus practice bases. The lacquer art laboratory covers 517.92㎡ and is equipped with natural paint studio, air-conditioning room, equipment operation room, dust-free workshop, lacquer painting art multi-functional exhibition hall, office, storage room and other functional areas.

Achievements

教学成果

师生作品获全国美术作品展金、银、铜奖、“广东省科技进步三等奖”、“鲁迅文艺奖”等重要奖项。在《装饰》《美术》《美术观察》等权威刊物发表论文60余篇，编辑出版教材11部、专著5部。近五年学生获省级创新项目15项，国家级4项；在专业展览中屡获佳绩，获各级奖项180余项，其中省级以上获奖94项。近三年来获第九届、第十届广东省教育教学成果奖（高等教育）二等奖、广州美术学院教学成果一等奖。

Works of our teachers and students have won gold, silver and bronze awards of National Exhibition of Fine Arts, the third prize of Guangdong Province Science and Technology Progress Award, Lu Xun Art Award and other influential awards. We have published more than 60 papers in authoritative journals such as Zhuangshi, Art Magazine, and Art Observation, and edited and published 11 textbooks and 5 monographs. In the past 5 years, our students have won 15 provincial innovation projects and 4 national innovation projects. At professional exhibitions, our students have made outstanding performance, and won more than 180 awards at all levels, including 94 provincial and higher-level awards. In the past 3 years, we have won the second prize of the 9th and 10th Guangdong Provincial Education and Teaching Achievement Award (Higher Education) and the first prize of GAFA Teaching Achievement Award.
