专业沿革

1963年高永坚在广州美术学院组建并主持了我国第一个现代陶艺工作室，之后合并入工艺美术系。1975年学校投入资金，建设陶瓷实验工厂，陶瓷美术设计教学与科研生产方面随后形成了相当规模。1981年国家教委正式批准广州美术学院工艺美术系陶瓷美术专业为硕士学位授予点，开始招收硕士学位研究生。2006年恢复后的陶瓷艺术设计专业开始招收本科生。2018年取得教育部批准的设计学科陶瓷艺术设计专业代码（130510TK）。2020年开始在佛山校区招收陶瓷艺术设计本科生。2021年获批广东省一流专业建设点。办学地点分为广州美术学院大学城校区和广州美术学院佛山校区。

In 1963, Gao Yongjian established and presided over the first modern ceramic art studio in GAFA, which was later incorporated into the Department of Arts and Crafts. In 1975, GAFA opened a ceramic experimental factory. Since then, ceramic art design teaching, research and production have taken on a considerable scale. In 1981, the State Education Commission formally granted Ceramic Art program of the Department of Arts and Crafts, GAFA the right to grant master’s degrees. Then the program was open for master’s degree candidates. It was restored in 2006 and began to recruit bachelor’s degree candidates. In 2018, Ceramic Art Design (program code: 130510TK) was approved by the Ministry of Education as a design discipline. In 2020, it recruited bachelor’s degree candidates in ceramic art design at Foshan Campus. In 2021, it was approved for the construction of provincial first-class program in Guangdong Province. Courses are now offered at GAFA Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Campus and GAFA Foshan Campus.

陶瓷艺术设计专业依托广州美术学院深厚的历史和人文底蕴，在工艺美术学院的指导下，以先进的陶瓷材料和工艺知识为基础，不断升级专业的教学思维模式，走艺术与科学融合的学科发展之路。并充分认识和利用好得天独厚的地理位置优势，贴近广东及周边省份的陶瓷产业，走进陶瓷企业，拓展实践教学空间，使本专业在重传统学科学术续存，跨学科融合的同时，联结外部可持续发展的教学资源，努力成为具有创新能力的，服务于社会的开放型陶瓷艺术设计学科。

Relying on GAFA’s profound history and humanistic connotations, the leadership of the School of Crafts and Arts, and advanced ceramic material and craft knowledge, we constantly upgrade teaching and thinking modes and uphold art-science integration. In addition, we fully utilize our advantageous geographical location to establish close ties with the ceramics industry in Guangdong and surrounding provinces and ceramic enterprises and expand our practical teaching scale. While carrying forward traditional disciplines, we work for interdisciplinary fusion by connecting external teaching resources which can develop sustainably. Our goal is to become an open ceramic art design discipline with innovation capabilities that can serve the society.

陶瓷艺术设计专业（大学城校区）培养系统掌握陶瓷材料与工艺技法，掌握陶瓷产品设计与陶瓷艺术创作理论知识，将科技与艺术、艺术与市场、技术与美学有机地运用到室内外陶瓷产品设计和现代陶艺创作中的专业人才。培养具有宽泛的艺术修养与职业素养的陶瓷艺术专业人才，理论与实际操作相结合，既要求具备创新、前瞻的设计思维意识，又要有独立或协作实现作品的动手能力。

陶瓷艺术设计专业（佛山校区）通过四年系统的陶瓷艺术设计专业知识的学习，全面了解世界陶瓷艺术与产业发展的前沿，完整地掌握陶瓷艺术设计的工艺技术、艺术创意、产品运用的基本理论知识与实践能力。培养掌握专业技术技能，创意与现代设计思维，产品空间运用能力，以及具有国际视野、综合能力的创新型、复合型、跨界的陶瓷艺术设计创意人才。

Ceramic Art Design program (Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Campus) aims to prepare professionals who can systematically master ceramic materials, techniques, and theories of ceramic product design and ceramic art creation, and apply science and art, art and market, and techniques and aesthetics organically to indoor and outdoor ceramic product design and modern ceramic art creation. We will cultivate ceramic art professionals with extensive artistic and professional quality who master theories and practical operations. Upon graduation, our students will have innovative and forward-looking design awareness as well as practical capabilities to create works independently or cooperatively.

Ceramic Art Design program (Foshan Campus) aims to prepare students who can comprehensively follow the latest development trends of ceramic art in the world and the industry, completely grasp basic theoretical knowledge and practical capabilities about ceramic art design, such as techniques, artistic creativity and product application, through 4-year systematic study of the knowledge of ceramic art design. We will cultivate innovative, compound and cross-border talents of ceramic art design equipped with professional techniques, creative and modern design awareness, product space application capabilities, international vision and comprehensive capabilities.

本专业系统讲授陶瓷艺术创作和陶瓷艺术产品设计知识，强调将理论与实际操作相结合，既要求具备创新、前瞻的设计思维意识，又要有独立或协作实现作品的动手能力。本专业学习当代陶瓷艺术理论和陶瓷产品设计与陶瓷艺术创作所需的陶瓷材料和工艺知识，以及陶瓷产品设计与陶瓷在公共空间中的设计理论与实践，并有陶瓷文化考察与研究，品牌设计与现代计算机辅助设计技术等内容的训练与实践。

This program will systematically teach knowledge of ceramic art creation and ceramic art product design. We emphasize the combination of theory and practice. Students are expected to have innovative and forward-looking design awareness and create works independently or collaboratively. Students will study contemporary ceramic art theory, knowledge of ceramic materials and crafts necessary for ceramic product design and ceramic art creation, theories and practice of porcelain and ceramic product design in public spaces. We also offer ceramic culture investigation and research, brand design and modern computer aided design technology, etc.

课程体系

陶瓷艺术设计专业围绕陶瓷产品应用设计的目标，制定了系统的陶瓷艺术理论与材料工艺、设计基础与创作实践结合的课程体系。实现校内教学与校外产业发展对接的设想，保证教学系统开放，不固化。要求学生通过大量的实践，反复印证创作理论，提高对应用的认识和把握能力。陶瓷艺术设计尝试建立数字化设计和实现课程体系，使学生通过计算机和陶瓷打印机等辅助设备的使用，具备手工艺和产品设计和生产的双向思维切换能力，胜任多种工作要求。

To realize practical application of ceramic products, we offer systematic program offerings which integrate ceramic art theories and material techniques, design foundation and creative practice. We connect on-campus teaching with off-campus industry development, and ensure an open and flexible teaching system. Students will test creation theories repeatedly through lots of practice, and improve application capabilities. We also strive to build a digital design curriculum system, so that students can use computers, ceramic printers and other auxiliary equipment and take up handicraft and product design and production and other tasks.

Faculty

师资队伍

本专业高度重视多结构教师梯队建设，强化师资队伍建设，组建多层次教师团队。形成了三师结合导师团队，以在岗教师为主，国际名师为客座教授，民间工艺大师为技术导师。现有专任教师9名，陶瓷实验员2名，博士4名，境外学习背景5名，博士比例占比44.4%，境外人才占比55.6%。引进外籍专家1名，聘请客座教授及引进民间大师多名。并组织获得教学优秀奖的老师传授教学经验，以促进同行间教学质量和水平的提高。

We strive to construct a multi-structure and multi-level teaching team, including full-time teachers, internationally famous teachers as visiting professors, and folk craft masters as technical tutors. At present, there are 9 full-time teachers and 2 ceramic laboratory technicians. Among our teachers, 4 hold a doctor’s degree and 5 have overseas study experience, accounting for 44.4% and 55.6% of the total respectively. In addition, we invite 1 international expert and several visiting professors and folk masters. We also organize teachers who have won outstanding teaching awards to impart teaching experience and thus promote teaching quality and level between peers.

Teaching Facilities

教学条件

除了拥有高素质的教学团队外，学院也在教学空间和教学设备方面持续投入，升级改造陶瓷艺术实验室的硬件，并不断购置先进的教学设备，请专业人员维护和辅助学生操作。陶瓷教研室和实验室实行联动机制，自行研发教学用具系统，既注重一般陶瓷专业教学的基础应用需要，也着力发展属于广州美术学院陶瓷艺术设计学科的教学环境，与大型陶瓷制造企业签订了教学研究互助协议，拓宽了校外实践教学空间与内容，使学生能及早接触到一线生产企业的情况，联接学习与工作的“无障碍通道”。

In addition to a high-quality teaching team, we also continue to invest in teaching space and teaching equipment and upgrade the hardware of the ceramic art laboratory. We buy advanced teaching equipment. Professional members are invited to maintain such equipment and assist students in operations. The ceramic teaching and research office and laboratories work together to develop a teaching equipment system. We focus on basic application needs of general ceramic teaching and develop the teaching environment of ceramic art design of GAFA. We signed teaching and research mutual aid agreements with large ceramic manufacturing enterprises, which expands and enriches our off-campus practical teaching, enables students to learn about leading enterprises as soon as possible, and builds a barrier-free channel between study and work.

教学成果

陶瓷艺术设计专业既注重短期教学成果，也注重教学对每位学生的长期影响。到目前为止，已经向社会输送了两百多位合格的陶瓷艺术专业人才，他们正在从事与陶瓷相关的设计或运营工作，得到了用人单位的好评，毕业生就业满意度高，职业发展潜力向好。并有部分毕业生尝试自主创业，为设计制造增加新鲜的想法。通过教学成果的不断积累及毕业生自身在行业中的历练与拓展，陶瓷专业校内外教学的良好资源不断延伸，为陶瓷艺术设计专业的健康发展产生积极的影响。

We equally emphasize short-term outcomes and long-term teaching impact on each student. So far, we have trained more than 200 qualified ceramic art professionals for the society who engage in ceramic design or operation and have been well received by employers. Our graduates have high employment satisfaction and good career development potential. Some graduates try to start their own businesses to add fresh ideas to design and manufacturing. Through the continuous accumulation of teaching achievements and graduates’ own experience and development in the industry, good teaching resources inside and outside GAFA for ceramic programs continue to extend and exert a positive impact on the healthy development of Ceramic Art Design program.
