History

专业沿革

随着全球化信息时代的到来,学科不断发展与创新。“美术学”的大视野已经逐渐转向多层次、跨学科、多领域交叉合作的综合型、实验性的艺术。在新时代的背景下,作为广州美术学院跨媒体艺术学院的前身——实验艺术系成立于2011年,是继中央美术学院实验艺术学院之后在国内第二个成立、并且在华南六省唯一以实验艺术专业招生的系别。该专业2019年获批为省级重点专业,2020年获批国家级一流本科专业建设点。目前办学地点为广州美术学院大学城校区。

The era of globalization witnesses continuous development and innovation of disciplines. “Fine arts” has shifted to a kind of comprehensive and experimental art that involves multiple disciplines and features multi-area cooperation. The Department of Experimental Arts was established in 2011. It is the second of its kind in China following the School of Experimental Art of Central Academy of Fine Arts and the only institution in six provinces of south China to enroll experimental art students. This program was approved as a provincial key program in 2019 and was approved for the construction of national first-class undergraduate program in 2020. It is currently offered at GAFA Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Campus.

实验艺术专业强调思维与跨界整合能力,以美术学和艺术学理论为学科基础,以跨学科互动、多领域融合为专业特色,通过打通艺术学科与社会学、文学和计算机科学等其他领域的学科分野,形成边界扩容、主题纯化、跨界创新的专业发展路径,进而培养艺术领域“导演型的高素质复合应用人才”,全力打造面向艺术未来的“实验田”。

This program values thinking skills and crossover integration capabilities. Built based on fine arts studies and art theories, it is characterized by interdisciplinary interactions and integration of multiple fields. It expands boundaries of the discipline, purifies themes and seeks crossover innovation by connecting art, sociology, literature, computer science. Our vision is to cultivate “director-type high-quality application talents” in the art field, and build an “experimental field” for future-oriented art.

实验艺术专业是一门面向未来的艺术专业,相较传统艺术类型更具媒介综合性特征,注重不同资源的整合与再利用,促进协同创新力量的开发,推动艺术的跨学科研究和跨领域实践,倡导“艺术融入社会生活”、“做有用的艺术”,使新艺术的创造力投入到社会发展和国家建设当中去,成为推动社会进步和文化发展的正能量。

This major is future-oriented. Unlike traditional art types, it uses comprehensive media more often, highlights the integration and reuse of different resources, stimulates collaborative innovation, and promotes cross-disciplinary research and practice. It advocates “art should be incorporated into social life”, “creating useful art”, serving social development and national construction with the creativity of art, and making art a bright power that promotes social progress and cultural development.

在教学内容上,全面优化新兴视觉艺术教育的教学模式,注重科技、人文、自然的三重结合以及传统与当下的多重对话。着重培养学生的三种能力:创造性的思维能力、整合公共知识的行动能力、跨领域的团队协作能力。同时,也注重培养学生对新观念、新技术的判断和应对,以及创造性地解决问题的能力。既培养学生掌握新兴媒体的技术,也培养学生在艺术实践中的逻辑思维与理性思辨能力,在实操创造和抽象分析中得到平衡发展,并广泛地适应社会,从而形成一种“与多种学科交流沟通的持续的自我学习和探索问题的生长力。”

We fully optimize the teaching mode of emerging visual art and value the integration of  technology, humanities, nature as well as dialogues between traditions and the present. We highlight three abilities in students (creative thinking ability, the power to integrate public knowledge, and cross-domain teamwork capabilities) and improve their skills in judging new concepts, new technologies and creatively solving problems. “Students are trained to use emerging media, develop logical thinking and rational speculation in artistic practice, and adapt to the society based on balanced analytical and practical skills. They are expected to “continuously teach themselves and explore problems through communication with a variety of disciplines”.

课程体系

课程体系围绕学生需掌握的四大基础,具有三种能力,体现出双重身份开展。四大基础指的是绘画语言基础、图像语言基础、空间材料基础和媒体表达基础;三种能力包括创造性的思维能力、整合公共知识的行动力、跨领域的团队协作能力;双重身份指的是既可以参与当代的社会建设,又可以从事艺术创作和研究。

The courses focus on the four foundations and three kinds of abilities that students need to master.  The four foundations indicate painting language, image language, space materials, media expression, while the three kinds of abilities are creative thinking ability, the power to integrate public knowledge, and cross-domain teamwork capabilities. We aim to train students into talents with dual identities, that is, students not only contribute to social construction, but also engage in artistic creations and research.

师资队伍

实验艺术专业教学团队汇聚了来自毕业于国际名校具有高学历和新兴交叉学科的跨学科、跨专业优秀人才,梯队建设层次清晰、合理、富有活力。目前有专任教师16人,其中教授1人,副教授5人,讲师10人。教师团队中博士学历教师9人,占比56%,硕士学历教师5人,占比31%。其中多名教师有海外留学及工作背景,是一支教学与科研实力雄厚,学缘、年龄、学位结构科学,具备战略眼光和创新能力的优质教学团队。

Our teachers are professionals with cross-disciplinary educational backgrounds in internationally famous universities. They are well-structured, energetic and familiar with emerging disciplines. There are now 16 full-time teachers, including 1 professor, 5 associate professors, and 10 lecturers. Among them, 9 have a doctoral degree (56%), and 5 have a master’s degree (31%). The teachers have strong academic strength, have strategic vision, and embrace strong innovation skills.

教学条件

实验艺术专业搭建国际协同育人平台,迄今为止,与英国、法国、德国、荷兰、比利时、美国、韩国等国家的13所国际艺术院校的相关院系建立了良好的交流与合作关系,输送与接收国际交换生65人。同时与雄安新区、华为科技、德化陶瓷、广东美术馆等多家艺术机构及社会企业合作建立教学实习基地,拓展面向业界的“第二课堂”,为学生搭建社会实践平台的同时将学院与社会无缝链接,为社会有效地输送专业的艺术创新力量。

We build international platform for collaborative education. We maintain good exchanges and cooperation with 13 art colleges in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the US and South Korea. Every year we accept and send 65 international students. We have built internship bases with art institutions and enterprises including Xiong’an New Area, Huawei Technologies, Dehua Ceramics and Guangdong Museum of Art. The internship platforms connect students with the society and plays an important role in fostering professional artistic innovation.
