专业沿革

广州美术学院是华南地区最早开设书法专业的高校，1986年国画系增设书法篆刻专业，成立书法篆刻教研组，并于1987年始招收书法硕士生与本科生。2010年中国画学院成立书法篆刻工作室，2011年迈入快速发展期，教学走向专业化、体系化。2020年书法学专业入选国家级一流本科专业建设点。历经35年的探索和积淀，书法学专业为国家培养了大批书法篆刻艺术人才，并在发展过程中不断调整与提升教学体系，目前其教学体系与成果均在全国艺术院校中具有了一定的影响力。该专业现于我校大学城校区办学。

GAFA is the earliest university in south China to offer calligraphy program. The Department of Chinese Painting established Calligraphy and Seal Cutting program in 1986, formed Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Teaching and Research Group, and began to enroll undergraduate and graduate students in 1987. It set up a calligraphy and seal cutting studio in 2010 and entered a period of rapid systematic development since 2011. In the year of 2020, Calligraphy program was selected for the construction of national first-class undergraduate program. After 35 years of explorations and accumulation, we have cultivated a good many calligraphy and seal cutting talents, and continuously adjusted and improved teaching. This program has a certain Influence regarding teaching system and results. Courses are currently given at GAFA Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Campus.

书法学专业围绕国家高水平本科专业建设的目标与定位，以书法学为支点发掘中国传统文化的本质内涵和核心精神，内外双向协调发展，深化专业教学改革，优化学科建设与人才培养机制，完善人才培育体系，在未来建设中，立足粤港澳大湾区并面向国际，搭建开放性协同育人平台，传播中国文化，讲好中国故事。

In pursuit of the goal of becoming a national high-level undergraduate program, we explore the essential connotation and core spirit of traditional Chinese culture through calligraphy, seek coordinated development, deepen teaching reform, and optimize discipline construction and talent training. In the future, we will embrace the world from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, build an open platform for collaborative education, spread Chinese culture, and share China stories by good communications.

培养目标

书法学专业以“立德树人”为人才培养总目标，通过全面推动课程思政，深化特色专业人才培养模式改革，使人才在文化传承、技能掌握、时代担当和艺术创新各方面都具备一定素质。在人才培养质量观上，强调要树立多元化的质量观，在保证人才培养基本规则的前提下使不同层次的学生都得到提高，以书法学、中国画专业为支点发掘中国传统文化艺术的本质内涵和核心精神，为国家培养适应新时代、具有宽阔国际视野、弘扬中国传统文化的复合型艺术人才。

We take “nurturing talents with morality” as the general goal. Efforts are made to deepen the reform of talent training mode so as to make our students well-prepared in cultural heritage, professional skills, sense of responsibility and artistic innovation. We uphold a diversified outlook on student quality, trying to improve the ability of students with different endowments under the premise of ensuring the basic rules of talent training. We explore the essential connotation and core spirit of traditional Chinese culture through calligraphy, and cultivate compound art talents that adapt to the new era, have a broad international perspective, and promote traditional Chinese culture.

Curriculum Design

培养规格

书法学专业学制为全日制四年，总学分199。引导学生立足时代、扎根传统，深入生活，树立正确的艺术观与创作观，自觉传承和弘扬中华优秀传统文化，全面提高自身的审美和人文素养。要求学生具备扎实的书法篆刻基础理论及书法篆刻实践技能，掌握相关文史知识及中国画基础等，形成较为完备的专业知识结构，较高的专业综合水平，能在毕业后胜任与本专业相关的教学、科研、创作、策划及创新创业等方面的工作。

This is a 4-year program with 199 credits in total. We guide students to inherit traditions while keeping updated with the era, go into the depth of life, establish a correct view of art and creations, consciously promote excellent traditional Chinese culture, and fully improve their aesthetic and humanistic literacy. Students are required to master solid basic theories and skills of calligraphy and seal cutting, have a command of related literary and historical knowledge, understand the basics of Chinese painting, develop a relatively complete knowledge structure and comprehensive professional abilities. They should be competent for teaching, scientific research, creation, planning, innovation and entrepreneurship related to this major after graduation.

Courses

课程体系

书法学专业课程体系上划分为公共与基础课程、专业课程、全校通选课及创新创业选修课等四类课程，主要课程包括：中国美术史、西方美术史、造型艺术美学、中国书法史、书法赏析与批评、古代汉语、书法古文字学基础、诗词欣赏与写作、古代书论选读、书法技法（篆书、隶书、楷书、行书、草书）、篆刻技法（古玺、汉印、流派印）、书法遗迹考察、中国画基础（山水、花鸟、人物）、书法创作训练、毕业论文、毕业创作等，构建理论与创作“两翼”兼擅、诗书画印“四全”兼修的复合型人才培养特色模式，课程体系完备、科学、合理。

The courses are divided into public and basic courses, professional courses, general electives, and innovation and entrepreneurship electives. Main courses include History of Chinese Fine Arts, History of Western Fine Arts, Aesthetics of Modeling Art, History of Chinese Calligraphy, Calligraphy Appreciation and Criticism, Ancient Chinese Language, Basics of Calligraphy Palaeography, Poetry Appreciation and Writing, Selected Reading of Ancient Book, Techniques of Calligraphy (seal script, official script, regular script, running script, cursive script), Techniques of Seal Cutting (ancient seal, Han Dynasty seal, seal of different artistic schools), Calligraphy Relic Inspection, Basics of Chinese Painting (landscape, flower, bird, figure), Calligraphy Creation Training, Graduation Thesis, and Graduation Creation. We aim to train versatile talents that are good at both theory and creation, and skilled at poetry, calligraphy, painting, seal cutting. The complete curriculum is formulated on a scientific and reasonable basis.

Faculty

师资队伍

书法学专业建立了一支以名师为核心，以中青年为中坚的具有较高学术造诣和教学水平的教师队伍。现有专任教师39人，其中教授占20.5%，副教授占36%，博士学位占25.6%；获国务院政府津贴专家2名、南粤优秀教师3名和省教学名师1名，获国家“万人计划”人才奖励，担任全国重要展览、论坛评委，并在教育部高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖、中国书法“兰亭奖”、国家出版基金、国家艺术基金、全国书法篆刻展等方面取得标志性奖励成果。

师资队伍的职称结构大体上呈菱形，以副高和中级职称为主体，符合教学研究型教学单位的师资队伍结构的基本要求，年龄结构两头小中间大，老中青教师合理搭配，已初步建立了一支以教学名师为核心，以一批具有较高学术层次和教学水平的中青年教师为中坚的高水平教师队伍。

The faculty consists of famous teachers and young and middle-aged teachers with good academic accomplishments and teaching skills. There are currently 39 full-time teachers, of whom 20.5% are professors and 36% are associate professors, with 25.6% having a doctorate degree. Also, 2 experts receive special allowances from the State Council, 3 are Guangdong excellent teachers, and 1 is Guangdong provincial famous teacher.  Some of the teachers have been included in National High-Level Talents Special Support Program, served as judge in important exhibitions and forums, and received iconic awards from the Ministry of Education for Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Award for Institutions of Higher Learning, the Chinese Calligraphy “Lanting Award”, the National Publication Foundation, the China National Arts Fund, and the National Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Exhibition.
 
Most of our teachers are the middle-aged and have a deputy senior title or medium professional title, which meet the basic requirements on research-oriented teaching establishments. The faculty is led by famous teachers and joined by young and middle-aged teachers with good academic accomplishments and teaching skills.

Teaching Facilities

教学条件

在专业资料建设方面，学院购置了书法篆刻、古文字学等专业的著作、教材、教材、法帖、拓片，邮订了多种书法篆刻艺术专业的学术杂志、期刊。目前书法篆刻工作室教学设施已经足够满足师生教学需要。图书室主要书法篆刻图书类别包括书法、篆刻、古文字相关的基础教材、书法法帖及理论研究书籍，这些藏书均通过严格的管理为科研和课程教学服务。

“岭南中国画实验教学中心”作为中国画学院的自主空间，定期举办中国画、书法篆刻等方面的教学文献展、教学成果展、并配合以公教活动，已成为中国画学院展现整体教学研究和对外交流的学术平台。

在教学信息化方面，学院有比较完善的多媒体教室，所有教室以及实验室都有互联网接口，所有的教学空间和办公室都实现了无线网络覆盖，还配合大屏幕的移动显示器辅助教学。

We have not only writings, textbooks, calligraphy models, rubbings for calligraphy, seal cutting and palaeography, but also magazines and academic journals on multiple calligraphy and seal cutting in the reading room. At present, teaching facilities in calligraphy and seal cutting studios are enough to meet the needs of teachers and students. Most of the books in reading room are  basic textbooks, calligraphy models and theoretical research books, which are subject to strict management and serve scientific research and teaching purposes.
 
The Lingnan Chinese Painting Experimental Teaching Center is independently managed by the School of Traditional Chinese Painting, where literature exhibitions, teaching results exhibitions and public courses/lectures on Chinese painting, calligraphy and seal cutting are held on a regular basis. It has become an academic platform for the School of Traditional Chinese Painting to demonstrate teaching and research results and conduct exchanges.
 
All our multimedia classrooms, laboratories and offices are covered by Internet services. Large-screen mobile displays are used to facilitate teaching.

Achievements

教学成果

书法学专业教学成果丰硕，教师参与的课题“聚焦当代社会需求的创新型美术人才培养模式改革与实践”2019年获广东省教育教学成果一等奖，教师论文发表省级以上期刊13篇；获国家级奖学金和荣誉称号10项、省级2项等。2011年至今，共招收本科生145人、硕士生约100人，近年学生创作累计获奖励297项（含国家级39项，省级86项）；近6届96名本科毕业生98％从事与本专业相关的工作，56.8％毕业生考取硕博研究生（含海外留学10人，港澳台深造3人，北大、清华博士2人），9.4%任教于高校。本专业教学水平得到业界认可，学生素质广受社会各界、用人单位好评。

Fruitful results have been achieved in calligraphy. “Reform and practice of an innovative art talent training mode in response to contemporary social needs” joined by our teachers won the first prize of Guangdong provincial education and teaching achievement award in 2019. Our teachers published 13 papers in provincial journals and above. Our students won 10 national scholarships and honorary titles as well as 2 provincial scholarships. Since 2011, we have enrolled 145 undergraduate students and about 100 master’s students. Students received a total of 297 awards for their creations (including 39 at the national level and 86 at the provincial level). In the past six years, 98% of the 96 graduates are engaged in work related to this major, 56.8% pursue a master’s or doctoral degree(including 10 study abroad, 3 in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, 1 in Peking University and 1 in Tsinghua University), 9.4% teach in institutions of higher learning.  Our teaching is recognized by the industry, and our students are well received by all sectors of society and employers.
