专业沿革

雕塑专业成立于1953年,是广州美术学院历史最悠久的两个专业学系之一。自成立以来一直秉承“为社会建设服务”的学术理念,经历了开创发展期(20世纪50-70年代)、探索改革期(70年代末-90年代)与快速发展期(新世纪以来)三个阶段,涌现了潘鹤、曹崇恩、梁明诚、黎明等一大批雕塑名家与学术带头人。几代雕塑教育者经过调整与改革,为雕塑专业在新时期的发展提供了丰厚的历史积淀与坚实的前期基础。“雕塑专业”为首批国家级一流本科专业建设点、第六批国家级特色专业建设点、广东省专业综合改革试点、复合型人才培养模式创新实验区。办学地点位于广州美术学院大学城校区。

Established in 1953, Sculpture is one of the two oldest programs in GAFA which follows the academic philosophy of “serve the society”. It has went through the initial period (1950s-1970s), the reform period (late 1970s-1990s), and the rapid development period (2000-). Many famous sculptors and academic leaders have emerged, such as Pan He, Cao Chong’en, Liang Mingcheng, and Li Ming. Generations of sculpture educators adjusted and reformed this program, having created rich accumulation and laid a solid foundation for its development in the new era. This program one the first batch of national first-class undergraduate programs, one of the sixth batch of national characteristic programs, a pilot program of Guangdong comprehensive reform, and an  experimental area for innovative mode of compound talent training. It is offered at GAFA Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Campus.

历经60多年的积淀,雕塑专业形成了以“雕塑社会、数构未来”为办学特色和发展导向,具象雕塑、实验雕塑和公共雕塑多头并进、协同发展,积极探索数字雕塑的新教学方向与材料教学新领域,建设多元化、适应时代发展需要的人才培养模式和教学体系。当前,雕塑专业下设具象雕塑、实验雕塑、公共雕塑三个工作室,成立了造型基础、材料基础、雕塑史论三个教研室及一个数字雕塑研究中心和四个研究所,以此构成一个集学术研究、技能训练和创作实践为一身的专业雕塑教学实体,实现教学与科研、学术与社会、传承与创新的良性互动,形成产、学、研三位一体的发展模式,保持着国内一流雕塑专业的地位。

With a history of more than 60 years, this program is featured by “sculpture the society for a digital future”. It emphasizes coordinated development of figurative sculpture, experimental sculpture, public sculpture, and actively explores new teaching directions in digital sculpture and new areas of material teaching, trying to train talents in a way that meets the needs of the times and stresses diversity. There are 3 studios for figurative sculpture, experimental sculpture, public sculpture, 3 teaching and research offices for modeling foundation, material foundation, sculpture history and theory, 1 digital sculpture research center, and 4 research institutes. They allow students to involve in academic research, skills training and creative practice. Together they realize positive interactions between teaching and research, academics and society, inheritance and innovation. This program has leading strength in China.

本专业以继承传统、拓展未来、服务社会为原则,培养具备坚实的科学文化和艺术理论知识,具备立体造型、材料运用以及创作实践等综合能力,能够在文化、艺术、城建、园林、教学和科研等部门从事雕塑艺术创作、教学和研究工作的高水平艺术人才和文化创意人才。

Following the principles of inheriting traditions, stretching the future and serving the society, this program aims to cultivate talents who master solid culture of science and theoretical knowledge in art, have comprehensive skills for three-dimensional contouring, material use, creative practice, and are competent for sculpture creation, teaching and research as employees of culture, art, urban construction, gardening, teaching and research establishments.

雕塑专业学制五年,学位为艺术学学士。本专业学生学习雕塑造型、材料运用、观念表达的知识,开展专业技能、艺术理论等方面的训练,掌握雕塑语言规律、创作方法,具备理论研究和写作能力。培养能批判继承古今中外文化艺术,对社会具有人文关怀的自觉和正确人生观,热爱雕塑艺术、具创造性思维、适应社会发展的专业人才。

 毕业生应获得以下的知识、能力和素质:

掌握雕塑造型、创作、材料等专业知识,了解数字雕塑、多媒体运用等学科前沿发展现状和趋势,实践与理论结合,具有扎实的雕塑学科理论知识,同时兼备人文科学基础知识、计算机及信息技术知识;掌握学术调研、社会调研的方法,具有对新材料、新技术、新理论进行认知和研习的能力,获得文本、图片、案例分析的能力;了解本专业的应用前景和行业需求,熟悉相关的政策法规和技术标准,具有较好的人文社科知识和艺术素养。

This is a 5-year Bachelor of Arts program. Students learn sculpture modeling, material use and conceptual expression, receive training in professional skills, art theories, etc., acquire the laws of sculpture language and methods of creation, and develop research and writing abilities. They are trained to critically inherit ancient and modern culture and art at home and abroad, build the consciousness of humanistic care and a correct outlook on life, foster love for sculpture art, acquire creative thinking skills, and adapt to social development.

Graduates are expected to possess the following knowledge, abilitiesand competence:

Professional knowledge of sculpture modeling, creation and materials, the status quo and cutting-edge trends of digital sculpture, the multimedia applications of sculpture, solid theoretical knowledge of sculpture and humanities, skills in computer and information technology; methods of academic surveys and social research, understanding and study of new materials, technologies and theories, analysis of texts, pictures, and cases; prospects and needs of this program, relevant policies, regulations and technical standards, and good artistic literacy.

Courses

课程体系

本专业课程包括了公共与基础课程(占总学分22%)、专业课程(由核心课程、专业选修课等组成,占总学分69%,核心课程约占总学分24%)、全校通选课、创新创业选修课等。其中,泥塑系列课程、专业实习、综合材料、写生男人体泥塑(等大)、超级写实雕塑、纪念肖像雕塑创作、观念与视觉呈现、多元塑造研究、动态雕塑创作、在地实验、材料语言与视觉呈现、毕业创作的构思与实践、毕业论文、毕业创作为专业核心课程。 

根据新时期社会发展对艺术人才的需求与艺术多元化的发展趋势,雕塑专业不断的梳理、调整专业课程,搭建了五年制“三三”的新型教学模式与课程体系,深化以造型基础、材料实验与专业理论三大板块为基础,具象雕塑、实验雕塑、公共雕塑三个工作室全面发展的课程教学体系,并积极开拓数字雕塑、玉石雕刻等新学科领域,形成了多元一体的人才培养方案,建成了“泥塑”国家级、省级一流课程与多个省级精品、特色课程。同时,在课程建设中加强与国际一流专业院校的学术交流,举办了与俄罗斯苏里科夫美术学院雕塑系、莫斯科国立工艺美术大学雕塑系等高等院校的教学工作坊、专业讲座与展览活动。

Courses offered include public and basic courses (22% of total credits), specialized courses (core courses—24% of total credits + optional specialized courses—45% of total credits), general electives, and innovation and entrepreneurship electives. The core courses are Clay Sculpture, Internship, Comprehensive Materials, Clay Male Sculpture (Equal Proportion), Hyper-realistic Sculpture, Commemorative Portrait Sculpture, Concept and Visual Presentation, Research on Pluralistic Modeling, Dynamic Sculpture, On-site Experiment, Material Language and Visual Presentation, Conception and Practice of Graduation Creation, Graduation Thesis, and Graduation Creation.

Specialized courses are constantly adjusted in light of social needs for artistic talents and art development trends. A new teaching mode is implemented, namely ground on modeling basics, material experiment, theories, and foster comprehensive development of figurative sculpture, experimental sculpture, public sculpture. Efforts have been made to develop new fields such as digital sculpture and jade sculpture. Now it offers national and provincial first-class courses on clay sculpture as well as many other provincial boutiques and characteristic courses. Besides, there are enhanced academic exchanges with leading universities in other countries, such as  teaching workshops, lectures and exhibitions with the Department of Sculpture of Moscow State Academic Art Institute and the Department of Sculpture of Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry.

师资队伍

雕塑专业共有专任教师24人,生师比约为10:1;具有硕士以上学位比例为96%,具有博士学位比例为38%,具有高级职称教师达46%,教授、副教授100%给本科生上课。教师年龄结构两头小中间大,以具有较强教研实力和创新意识的中青年教师为中坚力量,35岁以下的青年教师100%取得硕士、博士学位,团队教师数量适宜,层次丰富,结构合理,素质优良,注重科研能力的培养和成果积累,已打造成为一支“研究型”教学团队。2018年,雕塑专业教学团队被国家教育部认定为首批“全国高校黄大年式教师团队”,具象雕塑、实验雕塑教学团队均为广东省教学团队。

2016年,本专业的研究课题《现代雕塑造型艺术理论与实践研究》获广东省高校创新团队项目立项;2019年,雕塑专业教师团队申报的《新中国革命历史题材雕塑作品展》项目获国家艺术基金2019年度传播交流推广资助项目立项。

There are 24 full-time sculpture teachers, with a student-teacher ratio of about 10:1. Among them, 96% have a master’s degree or above, 38% have a doctoral degree, and 46% have a senior professional title. In particular, all of the professors and associate professors give courses to undergraduate students. Most of the teachers are the young and middle-aged who have strong teaching and research capabilities and innovation consciousness. All of those under 35 have obtained master's and doctoral degrees. The well-structured faculty is “research” oriented who value the improvement of research capabilities and the accumulation of research results. In 2018, it was recognized by the Ministry of Education as one of the first batch of “National Huang Danian Style Teacher Teams”. Also, teaching teams for figurative sculpture and experimental sculpture are Guangdong provincial teaching teams.

In 2016, “research on modeling theory and practice in modern sculpture” was approved as a Guangdong provincial innovation team project. In 2019, “exhibition of sculpture works on revolutionary history since the founding of the P. R. China” by sculpture teachers was approved to be funded by China National Arts Fund.

Teaching Facilities

教学条件

雕塑专业下属教学及办公面积为3688㎡(实验室除外),有专业课室6间,工作室5间,多媒体课室1间,阅览及资料室1间,综合办公室1间,多功能展览馆一个。现可用于雕塑专业实验教学的实验室共13个,涉及泥塑、木雕、玉雕、石雕、综合材料、数字雕塑等雕塑专业的多个领域,教学使用面积为5041㎡ ,实验设备先进,能满足教学需要。近年来,专业的基础教学环境进行整体规划提升,完成了实验室、泥塑课室、教具收藏室等改造工程,建成了图书室、优秀作品陈列长廊,为专业开展教学、科研工作提供了有力条件。

目前为止,雕塑专业已建成7个校内外实践教学基地(其中省级1个,校级5个)和5个实践教学研究所,实习基地数量充足,形式多样,涉及雕塑铸造、玉雕、石雕、数字雕塑等学科领域。

教学经费方面,雕塑专业通过财政拨款、教育收费、申请专项经费等多种渠道积极筹措办学资金,加大本科教学投入,每年经费投入体现了“三个优先”,在本科生学费、生均拨款、项目库和高水平大学建设经费等方面保证优先用于本科人才培养。

The teaching and office area for sculpture totals 3,688 ㎡ (except laboratories), covering 6 classrooms, 5 studios, 1 multimedia classroom, 1 reading and reference room, 1 office, and 1 multifunctional exhibition hall. In addition, 13 laboratories with a total area of 5,041 ㎡ can be used for clay sculpture, wood sculpture, jade sculpture, stone sculpture, comprehensive materials and digital sculpture. Advanced equipment in the laboratories satisfy teaching needs. Recent years witnessed the renovation of laboratories, clay sculpture classrooms, teaching aid storage rooms as well as the completion of a reading room and an excellent work display corridor. These facilities are powerful guarantees of teaching and research.

Now there are 7 practical teaching bases (1 at the provincial level and 5 at the GAFA level) and 5 practical teaching research institutes, where students can practice sculpture casting, jade sculpture, stone sculpture, digital sculpture and more.

Regarding funding, this program is supported by government budget allocations, education fees and special funds. Investments in undergraduate teaching are increased. Undergraduate students enjoy priorities in the allocation of tuition fees, government budgets, project funds and funds for building GAFA into a high-level university.

教学成果

雕塑专业重视教学质量的提升与监控,持续推进课程体系与人才培养机制建设,在师资力量、课程教学与学生培养上,都取得了突出成果: 

我院现有省级教学名师1人,校级教学名师3人,国家级教师团队1个、省级教学团队3个、校级教学团队5个;省级教学成果奖一等奖3项,校级教学成果一等奖3项、二等奖1项、三等奖1项。 

2010年以来,教师指导的学生雕塑创作作品屡获各级奖项。其中,获全国美展奖项4项,获广东省美展奖项35项,获全国性雕塑专业奖项51项,获全国雕塑专业优秀毕业生作品展奖项63项,获学院黎明雕塑创作奖学金82项,获学院荣发雕塑基础创作奖学金300余项。

Sculpture program attaches importance to the improvement of teaching quality and exerts continued efforts in curriculum construction and talent cultivation. It has achieved outstanding results in terms of faculty, teaching and student training. Some of the achievements are 1 provincial famous teacher, 3 GAFA famous teachers, 1 national teacher team, 3 provincial teacher teams, 5 GAFA teacher teams, 3 first prizes of provincial teaching achievement, and 3 first prizes, 1 second prize, 1 third prize of GAFA teaching achievement.

Since 2010, students’ sculpture works have won many awards at all levels, including 4 awards at National Exhibition of Fine Arts, 35 awards at Guangdong provincial art exhibitions, 51 national sculpture awards, 63 awards at national exhibitions of sculpture works by outstanding graduates, 82 awards of GAFA Li Ming Sculpture Scholarship, and more than 300 awards of GAFA Rongfa Sculpture Scholarship.
