2024年12月6日下午，英国伦敦艺术大学一行到我校交流访问。我校副院长蔡拥华，湾区创新学院院长、国际合作与交流处处长伍端，设计思维与社会技术系统设计研究院院长辛向阳等参加接待并座谈。
On the afternoon of December 6, 2024, the delegation from University of the Arts London (UAL) visited Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA) and attended a symposium between the two sides. Among others, participants from GAFA included Cai Yonghua, Vice President of GAFA, Wu Duan, Dean of the Innovation School of GBA and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, and Xin Xiangyang, Dean of Design Thinking and Social-technical Systems Design Institute.
蔡拥华对伦敦艺术大学一行的来访表示热烈欢迎。会上，蔡拥华简要介绍了我校建校以来的三个历史发展阶段。他表示，广州美术学院作为华南地区唯一一所高等美术学府，在粤港澳大湾区美术和设计教育领域一直发挥龙头引领作用。他指出，全球教育体系都在积极适应以人工智能为代表的新一轮科技革命和产业变革，如何以艺术和设计教育的创新性、实验性和前瞻性积极回应变革浪潮，是广美引领大湾区高等美术教育面向未来发展的使命担当。希望与伦敦艺术大学及该校中央圣马丁学院加强交流，以更开放深入的学术合作，共同推动高等艺术教育迈向更高质量。
Cai Yonghua warmly welcomed the delegation and then briefly introduced the development of GAFA across three stages since its establishment. As the only higher institution of fine arts in South China, GAFA has always played a leading role in art and design education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. According to Cai, against the background that global education community is actively adapting to a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation represented by artificial intelligence, GAFA shoulders the mission of leading the future development of higher art education in the Greater Bay Area by actively responding to changes with innovative, experimental and forward-looking art and design education. He hoped the two sides would strengthen exchanges and jointly advance higher art education to greater quality through more open and in-depth academic cooperation.
伦敦艺术大学副校长兼中央圣马丁艺术与设计学院院长Rathna Ramanathan女士对我校热情接待表示感谢。她介绍了该校发展情况，表示伦敦艺术大学鼓励跨学科的思考和科技交流，鼓励学生在专业学习中不断探索学科边界。以伦敦艺术大学中央圣马丁学院的英文缩写“CSM”为例，“C”还代表社会与文化，“S”还代表系统性思考设计，“M”还代表了新兴材料及应用。在面向未来的发展上，伦敦艺术大学倡导的创造性领导力、可持续发展、空间实践和未来材料等核心发展方向，与广州美术学院面向未来的教育思考不谋而合。希望可以通过未来合作，推动两校高等艺术教育实现更高水平。
Ms. Rathna Ramanathan, UAL Pro-Vice Chancellor & Head of College, Central Saint Martins (CSM), expressed her gratitude for the warm reception from GAFA. She introduced the development of UAL and noted that UAL encourages students’ interdisciplinary thinking, scientific and technological exchanges, and continuous exploration of the boundaries of disciplines. Taking the abbreviation CSM as an example, “C” also stands for society and culture, “S” for systematic thinking and design, and “M” for emerging materials and their application. Regarding future development, UAL will focus on creative leadership, sustainable development, spatial practice, and future materials, which coincide with GAFA’s future-oriented thinking of education. Rathna also expressed the wish to jointly promote the two universities’ art education to a higher level.
会上，双方就开展人才联合培养、具体交流形式等国际合作议题进行了深入探讨。会后，伦敦艺术大学一行在蔡拥华副院长的陪同下实地参观了学校校史馆、美术馆，深入了解了学校的历史沿革、办学情况和学科发展。
At the symposium, the two sides also discussed joint talent training programs, forms of exchanges and other related topics. After that, UAL delegation, accompanied by Vice President Cai Yonghua, visited GAFA’s history museum and art museum, having gained an in-depth understanding of its history, operation and discipline development.
